Application

A reducer, or reducing coupling, is one that reduces flow by connecting a larger pipe to a smaller pipe. When connecting two different types of pipes, adapters are used. An adapter, for example, could be fitted to the end of a plain pipe to allow a threaded connection on the other side of the adapter.
